A passion for Middle-Eastern, French and South African cuisine and culture passed on from father to sons, who throughout the years has grew Uncle Faouzi from 1 store to 7 stores and counting. Our family name
Uncle Faouzi was born in 1953, his life-long travels and entrepreneurial spirit has seen him open an establishment during his time in the Middle-East during the 70s to 80s. During the 90s to 2003, Uncle Faouzi opened a shop amidst the vibrant streets of Paris until his move to South Africa.
2003 saw the opening of Uncle Faouzi in Hatfield, Pretoria and was inspired by his time in the Middle-East, France and South Africa.
Our Journey
While on the pursuit of finding the freshest ingredients and eclectic tastes which fuses the aforementioned flavours and cultures, Uncle Faouzi often sat in a corner and smoked his hubbly which invoked curious onlookers who always wondered what he was smoking.
This curiosity led to Uncle Faouzi being the first store in Pretoria to sell Hubbly as well as its various accessories and flavours to be enjoyed right on the premises of the restaurant, or to be consumed and enjoyed elsewhere.
Today, patrons have the opportunity to indulge in a wide range of flavourful foods, from burgers, to schwarma’s, to kebabs and platters for sharing, while pulling a few smokes of Hubbly at one of the four Uncle Faouzi franchises found in Pretoria and Johannesburg.
